realtree camo stock VS masking tape

I have a plastic shotgun stock,with a realtree camo patten on it. I want to tape off stock,with masking tape,so I can hand fit,and finish, a recoil pad.
will the camo pattern stay on stock,or peal off when I remove tape?
all comments,suggestions welcomed.

It will be fine. Just work from the camo surface in toward the center of the stock anytime the camo might be touched by the tools. Basically you want to cut the camo layer against the stock material. If you go from center out you can peel the camo.
