Hello everyone, I have a question about my pistol Smith-Wesson model 52-2 .38 Special. I bought the gun used and I noticed that the rear sight had been limed .... So, the rear sight is too wide for my front sight and there is too much play either side of my back sight. Can I change my rear sight, or is it that I can just change my blade? I need your advice, thank you.

You could change the blade, if you can find one.
Parts for the 52-2 are getting to be very scarce as S&W stopped making them 17 years ago.

Here is a parts list from Brownell's, but I don't see any sight blades available for order.

In the long run, it might be simpler to have a gunsmith weld up the notch and re-cut it to your liking.

A few years ago Gun Parts Inc(Numrich Arms) had a decent supply of S&W Model 52 parts. It may be worth a phone call to check with them for your sight blade.
