Rebarrel a Winchester 43?

I know that the Savage 23 series receiver/barrel are a single unit, but what about the Winchester 43 ... can it be rebarreled?

I have a homemade Winchester 43 action wrench I got from the estate of an old gunsmith. You may borrow it if you want to pursue the rebarreling. PM me if interested.

choose your calibre wisely, the 43's were known to develope headspace issues in the 22 hornet chambering. The bolt heads were normaly shimed foward to close up headspace. A temporary fix on a shooter at best.
