Rechambering Win 70 ??

Hello,

I have been looking for a controlled feed model 70 in .375 H&H for over two years. With the recent demise of Winchester prices exceed $1500. I have found a Model 70 Classic in .300 Win Mag for <$400 and I’m wondering if it would be possible/practicable to rebarrel and rechamber in .375 H&H. Rim and base diameter are identical between these two calibers. I figure for another $500 dollars I could have a custom gun with a new barrel. Anything I am missing? TIA

make sure the case will fit in the mag well w/ no gunsmithing. i think that's where your hang-up is going to be, and extremely expensive to fix.

consider rechambering to 375 ruger.

You could also look at a Montana Rifle Company barreled action. It's basically a modern version of the pre-64 CRF action.
