Your assignment for the day:

Look up your favorite state at http://www.packing.org or other web site and see if it qualifies under the four criteria that Arizona DPS CCW unit has laid out.

Be careful and check it twice, then e-mail Russ.

Rick

>From Officer Russ Hamilton, AZ DPS CWP Unit:

Effective September 18, 2003, Arizona HB 2353 becomes law and
implements recognition of other qualified states' permits. I am
trying to identify all states that may make the list. The basic
requirements are:

1) mandatory proof of completion of some form of firearms training;
2) mandatory criminal history record checks for initial and renewal
issuance of permits;
3) disqualification, suspension and revocation provisions and;
4) an expiration date printed on the permit.

The following states have tentatively been identified: AK, AR, CA,
CO,CT, DE, FL, IA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MT, NV, NM, NC, ND,
OK, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, WV, & WY. If you know of others, please let
me know on this website or at [email protected]. Please keep
in mind that this list is TENTATIVE and not permanent. We have not
yet received word from our AG's office on certain issues that will
affect this list. We will post the final list on our website at
http://www.dps.state.az.us/ccw/recip.asp on or before September 18th.

Thanks, Ofc. Russ Hamilton, AZ DPS CCW Unit.

45Ruger, did you e-mail AZDPS CCW Unit about Virginia?

I agree about Indiana. We might be able to swing them in anyway on a different part of the recip law.
