I reacently purchased a 7.5" Ruger Super Blackhawk on from another member on this board. I have loaded up my first 100 rounds for .44 Mag and I have come to the realization this thing is probably going to be a hoss of a revolver. It does have large Uncle Mikes rubber grips, however I don't know how much that will help. I've never shot a .44 mag before so I really don't know what to expect. I have a starting load of
240gr Hornady XTP
23gr WW296
Win Brass
Fed 155 Primer
I have right now on loan from a friend an 8 3/8's 500 S&W with some pretty hot 350gr bullets behind 42gr of Lil-gun. This thing seems to be a stout kicker. I can stack rounds off hand with it, but it hurts my hand pretty badly due to hand surgery I had a couple years ago (2 pins).
In your best opinion would you think the kick would be comparable to the .500 or any lighter?
