recoil on a full sized Sprinfield 1911a1?

.45 ACP recoil is more of a push than a smack. It's still recoil, and you can still tell you're shooting a real gun, but it's relatively gentle and the heavy full-size steel 1911s tame it a lot. I would actually rather shoot a full-size 1911 than a J-frame .38.
