I will be purchasing a Hi-Point carbine soon.

The problem is, I could only get it in camo.

I would like to know of some inexpensive ways to recolor the frame grey, dark-blue, dark-green, desert tan, etc.

Spray paint, brush/sponge, professional help?

For the expense, you'd probably be as well off to just getthe aftermarket ATI stock, and go from there.

I agree. U could duracoat it and make it look nice. BUt why bother when U can just buy that new stock.

Then, it will look almost like the Beretta Storm.

I've seen the new ATI stocks, they're good but I actually prefer the factory stock.

I got a response on another forum about "Krylon Fusion spray paint" which is made for plastic. Has anyone here ever used it?

I don't know anything about the Hi Point carbine, I've only ever seen a black so I don't know if the camo is painted on like the older Mossbergs or is the water transfer like newer ones or if the stock is colored plastic so this might not be in the least helpful.I decided that I didn't like the grey of my HK SL8 so I got some packages of RIT dye and sublimated it black and plum as at the time I was digging plum AK furniture. It might not be an option or it might be a way to make a cool dark tactical camo look- or a complete mess:what:

Another option might be the Krylon Camoflage paint with Fusion. It's holding up pretty well on my Su16, and a Sub 2000 I used it on.

They also have a matte clear to put over it, I wiped mine down very lightly with oaint thinner before I sprayed.

I go with krylon fusion for plastics and duplicolor wheel paint for metal. The wheel paint is nearly indestructible.

Ok. Thanks everyone. :)

I think I will stick to the Krylon. Put a coat of Pewter Grey on the stock, then do the whole outside with the clear Matte spray.

Later down the road I might use Krylon Duplicolor Mirage on the barrel and receiver.

I haven't used the Fusion paint on firearms, but I have used it on a bunch of other things. I used it on some cheapo plastic outdoor furniture that had a very slick finish and it adhered great and is lasting through the abuse of many outdoor parties. I think it'd do fine for a polymer stock.

I just brought my new 995 home.:D

I will try to post pics when the mods are done.
