OK guys, I am going to build my first AR lower and want to buy a completed upper chambered in .223/5.56. I have a list of things I want this upper to have and need recommendations. Here is what I want

20 or 24" barrel (bull barrel is good but not required)
rifle length quad rail
no gap between rail on receiver and top rail of handguard
no sights (I want to mount flip up BUIS, if upper comes with flip-ups thats ok)

The upper I am looking at is the Yankee Hill Machine Black Diamond Rifle top end. http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_24_41&products_id=214

What other uppers are out there that have a similar setup as the Yankee Hill that I should consider? Thanks.

Palmetto State Armory

They have all sorts of uppers that you can order and if they dont have one you want. Order one similar and then call them and they will make the changes that you want. I ordered a 16" carbine length upper and had it at my door in 8 days from the day i submitted the order.

Thanks for the tip to look at Palmetto State Armory. I buy most of my ammo there (can't beat $12 shipping). This upper http://palmettostatearmory.com/2421.php is just what I was looking for and is much less expensive than the Yankee Hill. If you have any other suggestions, I'd like to hear them. I have a while before I am ready for the upper so I want to really look around. There are so many people building uppers these days I just don't know where to look.

I can recommmend Rock River Arms and LaRue Tactical for first rate upper receivers. LaRue is definetly top tier and you pay for it, but its worth EVERY penny

I did the same thing on my first lower build. Second time around I built the whole thing. Really, the lower build isn't even much work, but it's fun. Consider the entire build.
