Recommend me the best pocket carry

My own choice would be a Kahr P380 or CW380 because of its good trigger and sights. However, the gun is only half of the system. A good pocket holster is the other half. What have people found that works well? To avoid printing, I like the idea of a flap on the outside that completely covers the gun. Examples are the Recluse, DeSantis Super Fly and Uncle George's. On the other hand, drawing should be faster without a flap and, maybe, printing isn't an issue after all.

I think a loaded Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 is going to be a bit too heavy for pocket carry. Just my opinion... its not impossible but long term I think it would get annoying.

The SCCY just barely fits into the front pocket of a pair of my standard, off-the-shelf Levis 501 jeans. The butt of the pistol shows at the top of the pocket, it is a tight fit and as you can imagine, it prints very obviously. I can't just reach into my pocket and grab the SCCY, there is little room in the pocket for my hand. I have to grab the back of the pistol in a pincer grip with my thumb and forefinger and wriggle it out a little first. And if someone were to put a SSCY into a holster before trying to put it into a normal jeans front pocket - you're really going to have to stuff it into your pocket. There are probably some jeans out there that fit those guns a little better.

Something I'm discovering with pocket carry is that my R9 is starting to create wear marks on my pocket. I carry it in a DeSantis Nemesis and there is a wear mark where the heal magazine release just rubs against the fabric and there is a faint outline of a "gun" shape starting to show on the pocket - just general wear.

I think that would be exacerbated with a bigger heavier gun like the SCCY CPX2 or the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111. But on the other hand, you can get a pair of Walmart jeans for 16 bucks, so maybe its not a big deal...

Here is a size comparison of the Kahr CM9 and the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111

I don't know how this fits into pocket carry, but you can get a 20-round magazine for the Millennium G2 PT111 :)

Any of the above will work. I have a NAA Black Widow on me every day. It like my Swiss Army knife in that it serves more than one purpose. It have taken more garden vermin than any thing else. It also serves as my back up when I go to town.

Depending on pocket size, a Ruger LC9S or Ruger LCP in a Sticky holster. I prefer the smooth-shooting more accurate 9MM to the snappy .380, but blue jean pockets are too small for the LC9S.

I love my Beretta 21a in .25 ACP for center fire reliability. I use a pocketpal holster, I am looking for other pocket holster options but at the moment that is my only rig for pocket carry.

I have a Taurus Millennium G2 PT111, and I haven't had any problems with it but I'm hesitant to recommend it because I've heard of so many problems, and so many stories where a Taurus went back 3 times to fix a problem and came back the third time with the problem still not fixed.

I've heard nothing but good things about SCCY warranty and customer service.

The trigger on the Millennium G2 is only slightly better than the SCCY IMO...

Thank you. I've been mulling over the two for a bit. I've seen plenty of reviews. The ability to take a 228 sig mag was a plus for the Taurus. But the newer sccy seems to have less negative feedback.

J-Frame.

The G43 is the same form factor as the G26, only thinner. You were right, not much difference.

I have a Sig P238 and just got an S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 without a laser.

I'll start by saying that I like carry pistols with an external/thumb safety on them. Personal preference. My opinion is that I face a far greater risk of having my trigger get snagged on something or making a mistake, than I am having to get the safety off to use my CCW. I practice by doing my thumb flick, even with Glocks and such. Just to form the habit. I also can always leave the safety off, no biggie, if I really decide to do so. It's somewhat easy on both the P238 and the Bodyguard to flick off the safety, but takes some determined motion to put the safety on. I like that.

The P238 is an awesome piece. Seems very well engineered, hasn't given me any problems, and is accurate. It's all metal. I believe the frame is aluminum alloy and the slide is stainless steel. I got the SPORTS12 package that included Sig night sights and a wallet holster, and 2 mags (one extended and one not). Great deal.

I just got the Bodyguard 380 from Palmetto State Armory, for $199.99 after the $50 S&W rebate and free shipping. Add the transfer fee and I'm at $229.99 out the door. They still have this deal at Palmetto State. Came with a zippered case that snugly hold the pistol and a mag. One mag has a finger rest, the other doesn't.

Having looked at the Bodyguard and dry fired it, I really like it. It feels great in my hand. Most importantly, it's going to be a great kick around CCW, that I can keep or stash in the car, whereas my P238 will be when I can holster something a little "nicer" or when I might want night sights. Illinois' CCW laws are so weird that I wanted something to have handy in the car most of the time, so I can carry when possible, but stash away when not. I feel better letting a sub-$200 Bodyguard bounce around in the car than a $600 Sig P238...so long as I feel the Bodyguard is reliable and accurate enough. Plus the Bodyguard has a polymer frame and stainless slide, so it's lighter.

I would recommend the P238 without a doubt, but it's pricier than say the LCP or the Bodyguard 380. But the Bodyguard seems nice - have to shoot it (obviously) to see how accurate it is and reliable, but just from checking it out, it feels great and I'm totally fine with the trigger (some people gripe about it, but it's not as bad as an LCP....which I really didn't like trigger-pull wise). The fit and finish of the Bodyguard was surprisingly good.

The Bodyguard's trigger travels a lot until it fires, but not excessively. I'm going to guess that the LCP trigger goes maybe a millimeter or 3 further than the Bodyguard or something. It was to the point where as I fired an LCP, I thought "the gun doesn't work, the trigger isn't going to break!" The pull felt that long, and my first few shots with an LCP were in the ground several feet in front of the target. Do not get this feeling from the Bodyguard trigger.

Best of luck with your decision!

image.jpeg Carry the LCP everyday in pocket with a de santis pocket holster. New LCP out and haven't checked it out yet, but seems about 439.00 list. Old style still under 200.00. I'm curious what 's new with it.

Hey thanks stonecutter 2, just got the same deal palmetto state armory. Now proud owner of bodyguard 380. Thanks for heads up. Been looking for another pocket Carry to switch off with. Great value with rebate and free shipping. Thanks

Awesome! Yeah, I couldn't pass that up, should be a nice pistol to keep handy without it breakin' the bank. It was an Easter sale but they've kept it going, so I guess they have a lot in stock haha. I agree, just a great value. Will keep my Shield 9mm company when it visits it in the safe :)

I have the DeSantis Nemesis too, by the way, for my P238 - awesome little pocket holster. Prints like a wallet, but allows for easy and fast access.
