I have a new Crosman/Benjamin 392 inbound. I solicit the opinion of the experts here for the best scope and mount for it, for say $ 100-150 total. I will be using this for casual plinking out to 33 yards and pest control out to about 25 yards. I have middle-aged vision and wear glasses. Thanks for all suggestions.

Get a AO scope with mil dot.

Pyramid air will get you the rings you need. They will also have a good selection of scopes.

I would look at these options. Center point, UTG, Vortex, Hawk. I have three guns with Center Points I shoot out to a hundred yards with. Hawk makes some very nice scopes and Vortex has a good warranty. UTG is a well known favorite for budget minded air gunners as well.

If it was me I would go Center Point or UTG then you can buy more pellets.

For the 392, I'd personally go with a Williams peep sight.
It's such a short and fas handling rifle that it would be akin to scoping a 94 Winchester.

I'm just going through the same thing for my Sheridan. I wanted the Williams peep sight but it just didn't work with my glasses prescription, so it means mounting glass. The jury is still out on the scope but I found a scope mount that I REALLY like. I got it from Baker Airguns (model BE#1) and it is the best I've found so far. It is for a breech mount, not the scout type. It is lower and closer to the bore than many and means you don't have to build up a "cheekrest", when used with medium rings. This mount also allows me to move the scope to the rear far enough to get a full field of view without having to "turkey neck" forward on the stock. Like I say my scope may vary but these mounts are going to stay.

When I was a kid the Benjamin mounts were machined from brass the ones they make now are aluminum but they work fine. I just have a cheap Walmart Tasco on it but works fine.

There are other mounts out there, like the Mac1 but I have never used one of them.
