I've got a buddy who wants to come down over the summer to do some shooting & boar hunting. Can anyone recommend a guide in the South FL area?

I'm in West Palm Beach, and in Palm Beach and surrounding counties would be best, but would be willing to travel from, say, Daytona down to Miami, and west to the Gulf coast.

Thanks!

I don't think I'd like to hunt your territory in the summer! That humidity is just awful. My friend lives in Ft. Meyers and we did go out to a farm that he had taken a few pigs out of. With the tempertatures in the 90's and the air thick enough to knock 200 fps off my 45 super we decided to head back out to the gulf for sharks. Red Fish Pass was a hoot, 6' black tip was the biggest, and it's a lot cooler. This was in March.
If your set on hoggin there I would try and call some of the sporting shops in central Fl. The farm we were at bordered a hunting club that hunted hogs. They might be able to give you some answers. I wish I could rember the closest town, it was about 70 miles NE of Ft. Meyers. I'll call Bob and see if I can get better instructions for you. Good luck, Mike

We went with Ron's Guide Service at Okeechobee, and my 10 year old son bagged his with a .44 mag handgun. It was a good time, but they use dogs and it doesn't take long to find one and kill it.

I'd suggest if you have to go any distance to hunt, that you find a BUNCH of friends and have them all participate. That will maximize your time hunting. When that boar comes charging out from the brush and the guides are yelling, 'Git in the TRUCK!' it doesn't matter who's the shooter... it's still pretty darn exciting!
