Recommendations on an optic for an AK47 without the scope rail.

I just bought an Arsenal Arms AK and I'm wondering what kind of optic to put on it. I've considered some of the red dot scopes and such but haven't looked around yet to see what's available. I'd like something that gives quick target acquisition and accuracy out to 200-250 yards while still allowing good up close (<50 yards) use. Mine doesn't have the rail.

Suggestions?

1. Add the side rail. It is minimal effort.

2. Ultimak rail mount + any good red dot.
