Hello all.

I carried IWB for years and years before I went to pocket carry and IWB. I'd like to carry one of my larger handguns this winter and considering going back to IWB. For some reason, IWB just starting getting uncomfortable for me but recently I've given it another shot and it's not as bad as I remember. I've always used a good holster and belt so I imagine it has something to do with weight loss.

Anyways, I'd like to try out a crossbreed type holster. However, I'm a bit hesitant to buy one as they seem a bit cumbersome. The large piece of leather the Kydex is attached to would be uncomfortable. Of course I've never tried one so I could be way off.

It seems that they are extremely popular and many people swear by them. So, how many people use a crossbreed type holster and what do you feel is the main advantages to them?

I'm currently using a Summer comfort that works great but as a holster junky I'm itching to try something new. The gun I will be carrying will be a P239 or possibly a P2000.

Thanks.

I have one for both my Kahr CW9 and my G23. They are the most comfortable holsters I have, and conceal the best as well. You can't even tell I have a gun, which is quite a feet for the G23

I am not a fan of Bigfoot style holsters like the Crossbreed and White Hat. To me these make a large footprint unnecessarily with the dual belt clips that are VERY obvious. To me at least. I recently started looking at N8 squared tactical holsters that only use one belt clip which is more like the Blackhawk sportster holsters I use for my full size (bigger than G22 and G23) handguns.

I have a crossbreed. It conceals well. It is uncomfortable to me. I am quite picky about my IWB holsters.

Crossbreed is my go-to. The clips might be a giveaway, but I don't usually (pretty much never) actually tuck it in. I have tried it to see how it works, and if I am wearing a roomy shirt it works quite well. But it's what I use pretty much year-round for a full-size, all steel 1911.

I regularly carry an EMP or P250 in Crossbreed supertucks. Other than long road trips, like 15 hours to Florida, I have no problems with them being uncomfortable. Get the J-clips, they conceal much better (only the small hook shows at the bottom of your belt), and they hold better than the standard metal clips. For what it's worth, I typically tuck my shirts and there's very little printing even with t-shirts. If you're worried about comfort, don't get the combat cut, it keeps the grip from rubbing (in my case anyway) the spare tire, but does make it a little harder to draw without lots of practice.

I carry an IWB for my Sig 239.
I got this one a few months back and really like it so far. A LEO recommended it to me
Safariland, Model 18
#18-75-61 (Sig 239, 9mm, Rt Handed, IWB with two adjustable snap beltloops, Black )

It can be carried nicely from 12:00 to 4:00 with allen screw adjust tilt on two belt snap straps.. Very good open top retention and reholstering. Synthetic suede coating outside.

I'm gonna do a shout out for Aholster IWB holsters. I tried one for my G23 and it fits like a glove. Not much bigger than the pistol, adjustable retention, good quality and color selection.. Most importantly they are comfortable with good concealment. Since then, I've gotten one for all my Glocks. I don't carry my 1911's IWB, but use one of their belt holsters, it's good also. Just my opinion on IWB carry, there are many good holsters out there, some already mentioned here..

I carry a Galco Triton for my Glock 26. I really like it. I'm not a big fan of the oversized tuckable holsters, because they're way too big for my liking, and I don't ever tuck in my shirts. I too had a Summer Comfort when I had my S&W J-frame, which I also liked. Personally, I prefer kydex holsters for polymer guns, and leather for all others. If you want something simple, then I would suggest the Galco Triton. If not, the other options suggested I'm sure would be fine, but I just can't speak on them.
