I was watching a video on Youtube the other day (YankeeMarshall) and he reviewed a pair of Recover 1911 grips that add a rail to the dust cover.

OTHER than these grips being ugly as sin, which it is frankly. Anyone have an opinions or experience with these grips?

No.
And I never will either.

1. I have no desire for a rail on any of my 1911's.

2. They would instantly render about $750 worth of really good 1911 gun leather unusable.

It's an interesting solution to a problem (lack of rail on a 1911) that some folk perceive as valid and others do not. Objectively, I like the idea but I think that the grip area is likely to feel blocky and relatively slick. Dunno anyone that's tried them in person yet.

I am considering giving them a try. I prefer my carry pistols to have rails on them to attach accessories.

I plan on having more than one 1911. If I get this grip/rail extension that will be it. I do not see myself putting these on all 1911s I would ever own.

That was my thought. The company is very proud of the fact that the grip portion of the CC# takes up the same amount of room as the standard grip panels on a 1911. At $50 I am tempted to see if they are right.
