Rock Island Armory 1911 girp safety.

Hey guys I saw this video on YouTube where this guy is reviewing a Rock Island Armory 1911 Tactical. At about 45 seconds he goes to decock the gun but doesn’t press in the grip safety on the pistol. When I held a kimber you had to keep the grip safety depressed when decoking it. Can someone give me soom insight on this?

To me it looks like he pushes the beavertail back with his thumb thereby actuating the grip safety.

Ah ok it looked to me like the gun was broken or something.
