I was wondering if there are any activities you guys engage in that you don't carry during, even if it's legal. (Okay no dirty jokes either. :neener:)

I've found the only time I leave the sidearm in the car/home is when I'm playing at a local pool hall. I just don't want to expose my sidearm while playing, as it seems highly likely with some of the positions required for pool(and uncomfortable).

Now that Spring/Summer is here, I've started playing golf again. I was worried that CC would interfere with my swing, but I'm happy to report I don't notice it at all.:)

So how 'bout it?

When do you leave it, and when do you take it, and what affects your choice?

Water sports. Swimming, water skiing, surfing, SCUBA, etc. If I'm just boating, I am armed.

I don't carry when I am skiing/snowboarding. I have had to many yard sales that have laid gear and items I would think would never have come out no matter how bad the fall strewed across the mountain. I don't need my side arm to be one of those items.

Heading to the hot springs in a bit, I'm not going to be carrying. It's just not practical to do so. :)

If I'm swimming. Even though Sam Gerard says Glocks will shoot underwater I won't wear one. I do carry a Cold Steel zytel knife however.

i carry to the golf course, but i leave it in the car. the same goes for softball. I used to leave it in my car when i bowled or shot pool but i bought an mk9 to keep in my pocket.

I don'y carry when I windsurf or mountainbike or ski, although I always thought Biathalon was really rad.

Roller Derby.

Just kidding. When I say I carry everywhere/everyday, that is what I do (legally). I do not carry in government building. That is the only exception.

Dude, you carry a softball as a backup weapon? You must have a wicked arm...:neener:

Besides any legal issues with alcohol (if it is served there), why not carry a pocket pistol while shooting pool? I used to shoot pool a LOT and almost always had a .380 in my pocket. You're right, carrying one on your side is very uncomfortable and it will get noticed in a pool hall. But, pool halls, no matter how nice, are great places to run in to trouble.

Water parks and beaches are two recreational spots I don't like to carry -- assuming it's summer on the beach and I plan to swim. I also don't wear a gun into strip clubs -- up here LOTS of body contact is allowed. I generally don't carry at the pool halls because every pool hall around here sells beer, and when I shoot pool I generally want at least one ... besides, if there's REAL trouble, the kind from which you don't have to retreat, I can see my car from the hall, the hall has many exits, and the gun is in the car (mag out, no round in chamber). Let's see, what else -- oh, Mazola parties.
