Hi Everyone,

I have a Ruger Redhawk "Hunter" that came with 1" scope rings. I recently put a Simmons 4x32 handgun scope on it, but i didn't like the magnification and gas from the ported barrel burned part of the scope. That scope is now a scout scope on my SKS and it works great.

What Reddot can i put on there that's $100-150 that'll stand up to the recoil of my magnum? I'm not adverse to getting a weaver mount for the gun to put on a non-linear scope if people like that better.

Thanks,

Andrew

UltraDot

The UltraDot line of red dot sights is the only one that comes to mind. It comes with a lifetime warranty and and there is a model or two in your price range.

Guys have run these on 460's so it should be up to the 44MAG :)

+1 - Bullseye shooters overwhelmingly choose UltraDot - they survive slide mounting on 45s indefinitely and have a lifetime guarantee if they fail. A 1" tube with a fixed 4 MOA dot is around $130.

Done! Ordered an Ultradot per your guy's suggestion and the reviews i read. Sounds like exactly what i need. Thanks!

Andrew

I put the 30mm Ultra dot on my .41 magnum Redhawk last season. It works really well.
I took a doe, standing in the open at a measured 106 yards. My longest handgun shot ever. PB110003.jpg

FYI, Ruger will let you exchange your 1-inch rings for 30mm rings. For free! They even pay shipping both ways (at least the did for me, the four or five times I exchanged rings).

+1 on the Ultradot. That's what I have on my SBH Hunter. It's the Ultradot with a 30mm tube, and I use 30mm Ruger rings (which I exchanged, as per above).
