Red dot interchangeability

Gents;
I have a slide that has been milled for a j point red dot sight.

What other red dot or reflex sight will fit?
Delta point?
Burris fastfire?
Aimpoint?

Pretty much nothing but the J Point and the ones it was derived from: Tasco Optima 2000, and Firepoint.

Since it was one of the smallest, if not the smallest footprint, you may be able to have the slide milled to fit one of the better, more modern ones. Main issue is if the existing mounting holes would interfere with drilling and tapping new mounting holes for the replacement you choose.

I still have three of these, one J Point, one Optima 2000, and one Firepoint in use with rear sight replacing mount plates. They have held up well but are a PITA to zero.

You can still buy J Points ( http://www.brownells.com/optics-mounting/electronic-sights/reflex-sights/j-point-sight-prod7584.aspx ) so that might be your best option, short of having your slide re-milled (if there is room enough left for new mounting holes) or having a custom adapter plate made.

OTOH the Burris Fastfire III costs less and is IMHO a much better sight of this type.
