Red dot windage adjustment... which way?

I bought a cheap red dot sight, a Bushnell TRS-25. The elevation is perfect but my groups are an inch or so too far left.

The instructions helpfully state the windage adjustment screw is the one on the right, and that one click = 1 MOA. Great. The only missing information is... which way? :banghead:

I want my groupings to be one inch to the right. Which way should the windage adjustment go to correct this: CW or CCW?

You'd think this basic information would be included in its instructions. The fact it isn't tells me that there is some kind of standard that I guess I'm just too stupid to know. Is there such an accepted standard for red dot sights?

You may need a magnifying glass, but the direction is scrawled into the dial.

Counterclockwise on the windage moves the shot to the right, and counterclockwise on the elevation moves the shot up, per my Bushnell TRS-25.

There should be curved arrows with U and R stamped on the dials??

Turning the dial R > will move the bullet impact right on the target.

Turning it the other way will move the POI left.

Same with up & down.

On the cheap Chinese stuff, even if the dials are clearly labeled its a crap shoot if the label refers to moving the point of impact or point of aim.

Just pick a direction, and count off the clicks, If it increases the error, count off double the clicks in the opposite direction.

If you have BUIS and some kind of co-witness, look at the dot movement relative to the front sight as you make your adjustments.

With the TRS-25, the markings on the dials do work with the point of impact of the shot.

Of course, if bore sighting, everything is reversed as you are only moving point of aim.

Thanks for the replies.

The red dot is fine for now but I realize that scopes are something I need to research. Problem is, the more expensive they are, the better they appear to be. What's "good enough" is something I need to decide upon.

I usually steady the gun on a rest and start with the dot in the center of the target. Then without moving the gun turn the knobs until the dot is over my point of impact.
