i have a Smith Corona 1903/A3 and I am trying to sight it in accurately. The rifle seems to be shooting about 3 inches to the right. It also shoots about 9 inches high and I am going to install a taller sight blade

However, I need to adjust the windage so it shoots more to left and be on target. How do I adjust windage? Which direction do I turn the windage knob to move the point of aim more to the left? Thanks for your suggestions.

turn it the way you want the bullet to go, you bullets are shooting to the right, so you would turn your sight to the left. turn the windage knob counter clock wise. eastbank.

The reason your front sight is high is because the 03's were battle zero at 500 yds. the theory being if you aimed at the targets waist you would get a solid abdominal hit.

if it shoots high, you need a higher front sight to lower the impact or a lower rear sight to lower impact. eastbank.

Problem solved. Had a friend make the sight higher using silver solder and raised the height of the front sight. Now able to zero in at 100 yards.

"...How do I adjust windage?..." Rear sight goes in the direction you want the group to go. That can be the sight base itself(plastic mallet and brass punch) or the windage knob.
Front sight goes in the opposite direction you want the group to go. Also a plastic mallet and a brass punch. Hoping neither sight is staked.
