I've been kicking around the idea of buying either a Holosun 510 (or the newer 512), or an Eotech for my AR. I currently have a TRS-25, which is fine, but would like to try the dot-in-a-circle reticle.
I was leaning toward the Holosun, because the reticle is sharper to my eyes (I have some astigmatism) vs. the Eotech's reticle. Plus, it's a bit cheaper. I've read that, generally speaking, holographic reticles are not as sharp as a red dot, due to the differing technologies.
Today I read that green reticles (red dot or holographic) are actually a bit easier to pick up, so I've started to think about that option. But ... I am still wondering:
Are the green dots or green holographic images sharper than their red counterparts? Or just easier to pick up?
Reason I am asking is that if the green Eotech gives me a sharper image than the red Eotech, maybe akin to the sharpness of the red Holosun reticle, I would consider it.
Thanks
