I recently purchased a Redhead gun "safe" from Bass Pro Shops.
I understand it's made by Granite Safe Company who also makes "safes" for Browning, Remington and the like.
The spinning handle was kind of loose from the begining, however now it only spins without engaging the locking mechanism.
I'll be calling their warranty line Monday AM.
Thank goodness it malfunctioned while the door was open and I was showing the wife how to operate the Combo and open the door.
Has anyone had any experience with their warranty service?
Until it's repaired, it's being guarded by my "Attack Min-Pin". :banghead:

From that photo, I believe that particular safe is a Chinese import, and not a Granite. All of the Granite safes have rounded laser cut doors, and that safe has square corners.

This is why you should buy your safes from a safe professional. I doubt the people as Bass Pro will be of much help, aside from allowing you to bring it back, and trade it for another one.

If you can take the back of the door off and send me a photo, I may be able to help. Chances are it's a shear pin, drive clutch mechanism, or the set screw on the handle.

Doing a little more digging reveals that these are made by "Pro-Steel" for Browning & RedHead.

I believe this is what's supposed to be behind the carpeted door liner.

Thanks for the head's up.
I'll be contacting Browning not Granite on Monday. ;)

If you still have the box it came in, look closely.

Those are imported by Pro-Steel. I have been delivering a few of them lately, and was surprised to see a Chinese safe, sent to Pro-Steel, being labeled a Red Head, and coming with a Browning owners manual.

Suffice to say, the photo that you found is probably not what your safe looks like on the inside.
