rust collector, I won't argue against the bad taste aspects. Howsomever, if it really traumatizes a kid, that family has far more serious problems to deal with.

At age four or five, I'd probably have said something on the order of, "Not nice, Mommy." By age seven, I was doing farm chores for my grandparents, and I really doubt I'd have been upset at all.
