I have always wanted to try some reduced loads in .30-06 from my Speer Manual. Page 480 of #14 gives load data for AA 5744 for 150 grain bullets. I have a bunch of Remingtom Core-Lokt PSP's in 150 grains that I would like to try this with. Speer gives a start load of 26.0 grains of the AA 5744 for their 150 grain bullets of similar design and same weight. Does anyone see a reason that this would not work?

Are there any other powders that would be good for a reduced load for 150 grain bullets in .30-06? So far, all I can find in my reloading books if AA 5744, and I haven't seen that powder in any of the gun shops near me. I see other reduced load powders for other bullet weights such as IMR 4227, SR 4759, and IMR 4198.

Yeah, they explain the use of H4895 in the paragraph above the data. They claim that powder lends itself to reduced loads, all the way up to a full 40% reduction.
