Where are the better places to get a stainless finish for a gun? I want to refinish my Glock and Sig P228 in a stainless finish. So far there are a few I have talked to and they are all around the same price. I just need more feedback from some of you that have dealt with these companies.
If you know of some more please list! Thanks

Poll question/use/types of plate work-coatings

I do not clearly understand your question.
In general, a stainless steel firearm does not really need a custom plate or coating. It can improve the appearance and use maybe but it's not required.
If you really want custom work, look into the Robar NP3 coating. It works as RoBar says. I had a pistol plated with RoGard and it was not like the website described it. :(

I had my custom STI and my (then) duty HK USP both hard chromed by Tripp - good turnaround time and BEAUTIFUL work.

I don't have any guns with NP3 yet, but everything I've seen/heard is great. I'm probably going to have them coat a Makarov one of these days. As for Rogard, my impressions aren't as favorable. Again, no guns, but the buckle on my Wilderness Instructor belt has it; the wear resistance has not impressed me terribly. Mind you, it's different steel.

Yeah, the question is worded wrong but I know what you're getting at. But, you have to understand that the finishes offered by Bowie Tripp and Robar are all completely different. Aside from looks, one of those finishes may have qualities you desire.

I have a USP with NP3. I'm very happy with it.
