Reload Aluminum Case

Nice to see multiple people here pointing out that Berdan cases CAN be reloaded, it just isn't simple or easy. I get irritated by people who thoughtlessly repeat simplistic old saws such as steel cases or Berdan-primed cases can't be reloaded. Neither is true.
Buy berdan primers an you can reload berdan brass. I reload berdan brass.

If I had a source of berdan primers I have some 6.5x55 that would be reloaded.
They pop up on gun broker some times.
They used to be dirt cheap, but now I don't think new or wantabe reloaders understand the difference between boxer and berdan so they go for as much as regular primers.

Nobody said that you had to shoot next to him….!!
Unless you own the range(which you may), you don’t set the rules…. :scrutiny:

We shoot together quite a bit. I don't want to get injured from one of his experimental frag/jam rounds but don't want to avoid shooting together completely.

Like I said, there is plenty of 9mm brass around- virtually unlimited. Safer, easier and much more reliable.

I've reloaded quite a few in 9mm, but the problem I had was that even downloaded I would blow the primer out of nearly every one of them. I won't waste that time again.

I figured if the manufacturer marks something, “non-reloadable” then that means it’s a bad idea to reload them. Doesn’t mean it can’t be done, just that it’s not recommended. I’m accepting 100% of the liability when something goes wrong.
It’s like buying a car with a 135MPH limiter, then using perfectly legitimate software to remove the limit. Maybe you remember to replace the tires with something capable of the newer capabilities and maybe you don’t. Maybe you improve the suspension and maybe you just figure it’s fine the way it is. Safety margins are built into everything. And, it’s your car, your choice - until you lose it at 145MPH and careen into oncoming traffic. Now it’s murder.
You can take all the chances you want but as soon as ignoring good sense endangers the public, you become the bad guy.

Maybe I came across a bit abrupt.
It seems like a mountain out of a molehill to me……….
Shoot well…. :)

Don't hot load them or shoot them in an unsupported chamber and it will be fine.

Who has so few brass .38 cases and so many aluminum .38 cases they need to reload them?
Never tried to reload aluminum 38spl. I have a few that I sized, never advanced to priming and loading because I only had like 7 or 8 of them, most of them split when fired it looks like. Loaded plenty of aluminum 9mm and 45acp.
