I have a 5" 460 SW Mag, which I know will chamber the 45LC,454 Casull and the 460mag. What I'm looking for is some reload data from those out there that have fired the 454 Casull and the 460 SW mag. I'm looking for the loads that you have been happy with, in both jacketed and cast bullets. This will give me an idea of where to begin. My powder is H110 or W296 unless there's one out there you would recommend more. I'm looking for plink loads as well as hunting. Just looking for feedback-Thanks.

If you're reloading for the .460, forget about using .454 and .45LC in it. Really no need. Make sure you use bullets appropriate for the velocities you will be reloading for. Light Jacketed bullets meant for .45LC are fine for plinkin', but have been known to cause premature forcing cone erosion when shot at legitimate .460 velocities. They also will disintegrate upon impact if used on game larger than varmints. Some of the newer and PC models have tight throats, so start low and work up in small increments. Flattened primers are a norm in the .460 with hunting type loads, but if you're getting hard extraction, back off. H110/W296 and IMR4227 are my favorite powders for most loads. You do not have to load the .460 hot for it to be effective. Accuracy for me seems to come from loads in the middle of the load recipe. My PC .460 likes Jacketed bullets in the 240 to 300 gr range. Hornady XTPs are about the cheapest and the most accurate. For hunting and true .460 velocities, make sure you get the XTP-Mags, they are designed for the velocities produced by the .460. The 300 gr Speer Deep Curl bullets work well for hunting loads also, and their .45 cal, 300 gr JSP makes for a nice plinker load. Trail Boss used according to their website recipe for reduced loads works well for .45LC type loads, but because these loads(like many of the reduced load type loads) print so much differently than my regular loadings, I don't use them much.
