RELOADING .25 ACP

Thanks all. I think a mould is in my future.
I can vouch that this company makes the best molds I've ever used, but I can't claim to have tried either of the .25 ACP versions.

This is a three gang mold that casts 46 grain solids. Cost is 95.00€ (@ $101.64).

This one will cast three, 46 grain solids OR three 44 grain hollowpoints. Cost is 110.00€ (@ $117.69).

The cost may seem high, but these molds are made of solid brass, beautifully machined and prices include free shipping from Slovenia.

I think that given proper care, MP brass molds should last several lifetimes. They also hold their value very well. You can likely buy and use an MP mold for years, then sell it for about as much as you paid for it.

Small components + fat arthritic fingers = frustration :D Yes I reload for it as well. I agree, I have been buying bullets over time for years and likely have a lifetime supply of them on hand already and also a lifetime supply of brass. Did not realize things were not as available as before.:( Decided years ago yjat factory ammo was expensive then and reloading for it was in my future.

Hey guys: Sorry for the delay in responding, but I just got back to town.

@ hdwhit - I checked out your links and it seems for not a whole lot more money you can buy loaded rounds as you suggested, shoot them and reload the brass.

@ bobinoregon - I have 500 bullets. If you have anywhere near that, let me know and tell me what you want for them.

Thanks for the replies..... Doc

Hello all. I just picked up a pristine Colt 1908 .25 ACP. I found a stash unprimed Brass and dies in my hoard. Looking for 50gr FMJ, but not finding any online. Does anyone have ideas where it can be purchased?

I'm satisfied to use Factory stuff, but I have spare time to load my own.
Mr. Tom Unler .... please try Northwest Shooter Supply, I was able to get a good price from them. ... E.Capule

Thanks all. I think a mould is in my future. I plan on the occasional reload just because I can....

Currently I am set up for about 40 different calibers, from .221 Fireball to .458 Win Mag. It's just a fun pastime to sit at the bench in front of a mountain view.

I'm not looking for National Match accuracy, I have 4 Gold Cups and 2 Pythons for that....

Sounds a bit like me although I'm in the low 30s for the number of cartridges that I have tools to load at the moment.

If you get a mould, cases are are the next difficult item and are probably most available through factory ammunition. Then, you will be good to go.

Once I fire up my 25 ACP mould, I plan to try powder coating the bullets.

Except that the cases are bigger and easier to handle, I find 17 Remington more difficult to load than 25 ACP.

I took the .25 out yesterday and it functioned perfectly. Pointing the gun was a bit odd at first. I just considered the whole gun to be a front sight bead and it kept remarkably small groups at 15 feet. I doubt it had been fired much since 1926, which is a complete shame. That thing is really fun!

I've managed to purchase a ton of bullets and cases, so I will be busy with a magnifying glass and tweezers at the loading bench. :)
