Please can the clever people help me on the best reloading grains for a 30-06? Using 150 gr, 168gr and 180 gr soft points bullets.

The first bit of advice I would give is that there's no substitute for loads out of a proper manual. I wouldn't advise taking load data from someone on the web. If you're looking for a new powder to try, by all means ask people opinions. But when it comes to the amount of powder to drop, my advice would be to get a manual or at the very least use published loads from a powder/bullet manufacturer on the web.

I noticed you had another thread about loading 7x64 Brenneke, which is a pretty uncommon caliber here.

What part of the world are you located in??

And what powder are you using in the 7x64?

RCMODEL - I'm from South Africa, the 7x64 is a very nice weapon to use in the bush or kalahari, shooting Zebra, Springbuck, Kudu and Impala. We use Somchem S365 powder.

Somchem S365 powder is just almost the exact same burn rate as IMR-4350.
Which is a most excellent heavy bullet and passable light bullet 30-06 powder.

Since you probably can't get American powders in South Africa anyway?
I won't even try to recommend any of them.

I'd use the Somchem S365 powder you can get and already have.

For 180, I use 55.3 grains of IMR4350 under a Sierra SPBT. OAL is 3.25", brass is Lapua, and primer is CCI 200 LR. Gives me an average of 2675 fps from a 22" barrel and 1/2" three shot groups at 100 yards.

Been loading 57gr of IMR 4350 under a 150 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for about 20 years. I have a 700 BDl that puts 'em all touching.
