I'm reloading 9mm Luger with 20grain T/C lead bullets, what is the proper amount of Unique powder to be used Low To Maximum. Also what is the ORAL?

20 Gr?

Round Nose?

Flat Point?

T/C I am assuming is truncated?

Welcome to THR

20G Bullet seem awfully low for a 9mm, I checked both my Hornady and Lee reloading manual and both only went down to 90G. With that said, other things are going to matter as well, like walkalong said, RND Nose, FP, FMJ, etc?

For something that unique of a bullet I would guess you would have to just use google and find a load on the internet.

Good luck

Welcome to THR! too. :)

Ken, what manuals do you have? The Lyman's reload manual list load data, IIRC, for a 120 gr. cast bullet.

Let us know what ya got!

Welcome to the forum.

Just a word of caution, never trust data you get from strangers on the Internet. Always verify the data before you use it.

Like said, a 20gr bullet is extremely light for loading in a 9mm case. Was that a mistake or are they really 20gr?

Haha yeah, why do you think I ended my post with "good luck" because that's all it your going off of when finding random loads on the internet.

Well now that we have that out of the way, what powder are using? That is going to matter as well.

Here is the load data I have from my lee manual

Welcome to the wonderful, oft confusing and frustrating world of reloading!

Unless you're just curious about what some reloaders use, and not for load data, don't use "forum data". I tell every new reloader that will listen; pay very little (no) attention to any load data you see/read/hear from any forum expert, range rat, pet loads website, gun counter clerk, gun shop guru, or good intentioned friend. Get your data from published reloading manuals. While most powder manufacturer's sites have load data available, I believe it's much better to build a library of reloading manuals (I like to open a few manuals to the caliber/bullet page I want and compare). I started reloading pre-web and only had reloading data from the instruction sheet of my Lee Loader and my next purchase, once I learned they existed, was a Speer reloading manual. I still have that manual I purchased in '70...

Welcome to THR,
lots of great people here.

One thing to remember when using data from Alliant's site is they show MAX charges, reduce what they so by 10% for start charges.
Manuals and most other sites will list a start charge.

What are you looking for in you load, something to duplicate factory ammo or just something fun for the range?
I loaded up some MBC 125gr lubed lead cones with 4.5gr of Unique, made a fun range load and seemed o shoot well.
For my 9mm practice/match loads I like the velocity somewhere around 1030-1050 fps.
