Good evening, I was hoping that some one here would be able to tell me where I can find reloading data for Estate 12 gauge shot shells? I know that the Estate factory is right next door to the Federal cartridge plant and owned by the same company, but I do not know if they use the same method for making both 12 gauge hulls at both plants. Dose anyone know if these Estate hulls are even worth reloading or are they designed to be shot once and thrown away? Thank you in advance to every one who replies!

Ok, so this is not conclusive, but my understanding is that Estate is produced by Federal. Now, whether or not the hulls are exactly the same remains a question for me. If you find any definitive info, I’d be interested.

What you may want to do is cut a hull in half longways so that you can get a good look at the base wad arrangement and compare to a Federal if you have one of each. You can use a Dremel to cut through the metal head to be sure you can see and can measure the base wad.

I personally label and keep all hulls I treat this way for future reference. I went through my collection but did not have any Estates. Lyman’s 5th Edition was no help either.

I encourage you to research Estate further. Maybe call either Federal or Estate or both.

But, this may help as far as Federal is concerned.

Neither Estate or Federal are standalone companies, they are both simply brands of Vista Outdoor, same as Remington and a couple dozen other brands. https://vistaoutdoor.com/brands/ (which is great in my opinion: shared IP, greater purchasing power, minimized overhead, etc.. - all translating into lower costs for them which typically leads to lower pricing for us)

Definitely reach out for accurate information, the web is full of conjecture and what was once true may have changed: https://www.estatecartridge.com/contact_us.aspx

Products by Style (claybusterwads.com)

Look through this info. In the columns on the first page, you'll see "by styles". The drop-down then lists the major manufacturers. At the bottom is "straight wall" which is the style of a Federal hull.

The data is for "all Federal and import cartridges". Go to that info and you'll find CB6100-12 for 7/8 to 1 oz of shot and CB6118-12 for 1 to 1 1/8 oz of shot. Load data is listed under a hot button.

BTW Claybuster customer service is 800 922 6287. I'm a big fan and have always found them to be helpful.
