I have a basic question about published reloading data..
On the Hodgdon website I looked up a load for .38 special it was Trail Boss and it listed 2.7 as the starting load with a velocity of 661. Max load was 4.2 with a velocity of 804.
What length barrel do they use to measure the velocity?
I would assume that a longer barrel, i.e., 4" vrs 6" would make a difference. I looked everywhere on their site but didn't find that information. Maybe I need to read their reloading manual better.
I guess this may not be necessary but I have always been the curious type..
