This type of fmj bullet is new to me. The lead core is exposed on the nose instead of the lead exposed on the base of a typical Full Metal Jacket bullet. I'm concerned that the solid copper base could cause a different pressure reading.
How would you suggest I start reloading these?
These are what I have: Remington .451 dia., 230gn., FNEB Bullets to be used in a modern 1911 .45acp.
Thanks; Sage

You're overthinking it. There will be no problem, as long as you follow established load data. What causes pressure differences is bullet weights, powder charges and bearing surfaces, not which metal is exposed to the powder gasses.

Hope this helps.

It is simply to keep the burning powder from touching lead, which will cut down on smoke, and possibly lead in the air. I think they are a good idea. JHP's and JSP's etc do the same thing just because of how they are made.

A number of manufacturers have made jacketed bullets with the exposed lead at the tip of the bullet to minimizedlead exposure upon firing. Some call them CMJ (completely metal jacketed0 others call them CEB (completely enclosed base).
