I have just bought what appears to be a non issued 1909 7.65 Mauser. Its a beautiful gun and the barrel looks to be never fired. The bolt action is still in cosmoline and the inside of the barrel. Im looking for some input on building new loads for it. I want a lighter load than what is commercially available. I want to load a Hornady 150 gr. sp. bullet with 45 grains of Alliant Reloader 15 powder. Winchester WLR primer in new Privi Partizan brass. Can I get some input on how anyone feels about the load. Looking to make a better shooting, load with less drop at 3oo yards.
Thanks for any input.

Welcome to THR, docmoss.

I'm not where I can check my manuals, and there is little data for it online using Rel-15.
I did find this one load using a heavier bullet and Rel-15.

Your load appears to be middle of the road, and should be about what you want if it's accurate.

Congratulations on your acquisition, they are beautifully made and quite desirable and usually expensive.
