Haven't found a good one yet, anyone have a suggestion? Mainly looking for powder and primers. Thanks.

Yeah, the next Dixie Gun & Knife Show is in May. They usually have brass, powder and primers. The only other show is small and pretty sorry.

Thanks, If I get out that way I'll check them out. Greensboro is 3 hours away. GM is always worth checking out though..

Try Young Guns in Apex, the prices aren't that good, but they carry reloading components. PDHSC on Tryon Rd. also carries some.

I've been picking up powder at BassPro Shops...Hodgdon and Alliant. They have some others too. Primers I can get by the package or box at the local reloading stores (nasty hazmat fee and extra shipping when ordering online).

A good reloading shop in Kernersville

If you're willing to drive that far, there's a pretty good shop in Kernersville. (That is about another 15-20 minutes west from Greensboro.) The shop is called "The Gun Rack" They're on highway 150 about 1 block off of Business I-40.

I was in there yesterday. They had a pretty good selection of Hornady and Sierra bullets and a really good selection of powders. They stock cast bullets but were low right then.

FWIW.

my suggestion would be to make a yearly trip to the tri-cities area in extreme eastern tennessee. get all your friends to pool their orders together at the same time and the gas will cost you less than shipping and hazmat

Rumor has it that the fire marshall is making it tough for a couple of shops in Raleigh.

PDHSC has very little right now - they are not sure what they will be doing according to one of the guys that works the counter.

Young Guns has the best prices in the area on primers and powder. Hill's has the most stuff on hand but they sell things close to the MSRP.

If you send me an email I can give you a phone number for one of the vendors at the gun show. They will bring what you want - that way you are sure it will be there when you arrive. Last gun show one of the major vendors did not come and those that did were basically sold out of popular powders at noon on Saturday.

I hear there is a guy that attends most of the IPSC matches at Sir Walter (1st Saturday each month) that bring reloading supplies. I know some guys buy from him.

Bill Rudder runs Rudder's guns in Butner and carries some supplies. It's a small shop, so call to see if they have what you want before you make a trip, but it's there.

Also, there's Mace Sports in Mebane. They do a pretty good selection of powders and primers. Not a huge selection of bullets or brass, but again, not a terrible trip if you call and find they have what you want.

Honestly, brass & bullets are available at better prices online than anywhere; I only bought primers and powders locally (when I lived in Hillsborough) to avoid the hazardous shipping charges.

Fortunately, I am a college student in middle TN and am from the Tri-Cities! :neener: I go to Widener's about every 6-9 months and drop 200-300 dollars. Good store with a very good selection. Be sure to check market prices with other online sources, but typically Widener's is very competitive price wise.
