Ok first off before anyone says it i have done a search and really up all i could on here. I just bought a G31C and am looking at reloading 357 sig the first time. I have seen that some guys use a 40 resize die and then 357 sig size die. And i was wandering if there is anything i need to watch for when resizing the case, like in the shoulder area. And what are your tips on getting proper neck tension? And one more has anyone had any luck with plated bullets such as berry's or is the velocity just too much for them? Some info would be helpful i plan on ordering dies next week.

i am considering getting the Storm Lake 357Sig drop in Barrel for my 40XDM, so I would like to hear about this as well.

For me reloading bottleneck pistol cartridges is a veritable pain in the neck. I stick with the straight walled cases which can be resized using carbide dies without having to lube the case and subsequently degrease it.

Shooting plated bullets beyond 1100 fps is not advisable. I keep my 9mm 124's to ca 1040 fps without problems. As an alternative you might want to consider purchasing an extra 40 S&W barrel and using the plentiful 40 S&W brass.

I do the two-step resizing process to avoid lubing cases and it works fine for me. In my case I use a Hornady titanium nitride .40 die first and then a regular RCBS die adjusted so the press just barely "cams over." I haven't had any problem with headspacing or neck tension using Magnus 125-gr JHP (their part no. J-162). Everything functions just fine. No personal experience with plated bullets in this cartridge.
