Reloading vs. Shooting

FWIW; went to the "range" yesterday and found myself spending almost as much time picking up brass as I did shooting (found a lot of 380, a lot of 9mm, and a few 45 ACP. Lost some 32 ACP [little buggers snuck away when I wasn't lookinng]. Picked up maybe 25 assorted others.Left half of the 9mm and all the 223/5.56 and 40 S&W). Yep, I'm a reloader...

Because going shooting is usually a 4-5 hour event for me (here in Dallas, anyway, where they closed all the convenient outdoor ranges...) I don't shoot nearly as much as I used to. In fact, I shoot more when I go out to NV, because in 5 minutes I can be in the desert blasting away without a problem.. but that is only 3 times a year. My reloading setup, however, is 63 steps away... and I love me some reloading. Ying and Yang, one begats another, the circle of life, call it what you want... one feeds the other. I love looking at stacks of my reloaded ammos...

Yesterday I unloaded 40 rounds of test cast lead 45acp. Idea was 20 each in each pistol but the XD didn't like them so the Witness got an extra 5. Now to go make someor's of these with a little less powder and try again. Then after this I have another new mold to play with.

I stared reloading so I could shoot more and I still do so. That also evolved into a search for better accuracy. I enjoy the process of reloading to that end. When I am satisfied I'm not going to make anymore improvement in accuracy then it reverts to reloading to shoot more and becomes just work that I have to perform to enjoy the accuracy I have developed with that particular firearm.

If you ever see video of someone shooting .32 if you look reeeeeally closely you can sometimes see a few of them just *WINK* out of existence in midair.

My personal opinion is that it is probably, somehow, connected with that dryer-sock-disappearance thing.

:)

That is why I didn't keep a 32 ACP long. I only recovered about 20% of the brass. 380 is bad enough. lol

Brass Gremlins...They’re related to sock gremlins, but like shiny things.
