Hi,

I'm curious if anyone has ever reloaded the RIBBED GREEN "unmarked" Remington 2 3/4" slugger shells available at Walmart in the 15 round value packs of 1oz slugs?

They have significant brass and appear sturdy enough to reload - though not sure how many reloads the would handle. Any one have thoughts?

If you have done this - what type of Remington hull would you treat them as or does it matter? I only say that because Alliant (for example) lists their load data treating all Remington 2.75" plastic hulls as the same.

From header of Alliant load data manual:

12-Gauge, 2 3/4 -in. Remington Plastic Shells (STS, Nitro 27, Premier RXP and Gun Club) Shot Wt. - 7/8 | 1 | 1 1/8 | 1 1/4 | 1 3/8 |

I think you may have some trouble with the crimp if you are going to be loading shot. Slugs are roll crimped and after they are fired there are no folds remaining to refold. AFAIK all the Remington plastic hulls are all taper wall hulls and use the same data. The promotional loads and Gun Club loads easily go 5-7 reloads.

Thank you for the information on the Remington shells.

I too am concerned about trying to star crimp a shell previously roll crimped.

Easily fixed by blasting off a bunch of target shot and reloading those though - but thanks for the heads up.
