This didn't get a single response in Rifle Country so I'll try it here.
Happened to see Midway lists a few .920 dia. replacement barrel options now for the 597.
I hate to spend the $ for a 1-200 dollar replacement stock for the 597 as I see it mostly as a "tinker-with-it-rifle".
For those that have any experience with the Rem 597 , do you think it would be possible to open up the barrel channel on the green plastic stock they come with enough to accept one of the bigger barrels?
Wonder what one would find the stock to be composed of?
Plastic with voids...
Plastic over styrofoam...
Anti-matter...?
THX in advance.
