I am looking at private sale on a Remington 700 SPS .270. I have a few questions about it though.

1. It looks like it has some sort of iron sights but the seller says that the rifle is factory new. Does Remington actually put iron sights on some of the 700's?

2. Will these sights cause any problems for me when I go to mount a scope on the rifle?

3. The rifle looks like has a tan synthetic stock and tan barrel. I could not find any such model on the Remington website. Do any of you know the details on this color scheme/finish?

4. What is a good price for an SPS 700 .270?

Thanks for the help.

Uh, I have a Rem. 700 SPS and that looks like my grandpas 700 ADL synthetic. (it has iron sights and the stock has the checkering)

I paid about $540 for my 700 (new). Both are decent guns but the stock is kinda poor but with some modifications it can be inexpensive but excellent.

I also think it's probably an ADL. The ADLs have a blind magazine while the SPS has the hinged floor plate.

The rifle in the picture is not an SPS, it appears to be an ADL. As far as the sights causing problems, they should not. When looking through the scope you should not notice them.

It is an ADL. It appears the lighting is bad causing the tan coloring. Unless it has been painted the metal should be a matte black with a cheap black stock. Around here that gun would sell for around $350 or so in good shape.
