Just picked up a Rem 700 VLS in 6mm. I burned some factory ammo in it yesterday (as I wait for 6mm dies to arrive), and it seems to shoot fairly decent.
I have some Berger 68gr. match bullets and some 85gr. Nosler Partitions. Thus, I will start out with those ...in Rem brass that I also have. But, I'd love some input. Especially from reloader owners of the same gun.
Tips?
Favorite powders?
COLs? ....(please....)
CCI 200 Primers...good? OK?

Any other tips would be appreciated, too.
Thanks in advance.

Remarkably OUTSTANDING CHOICE!!!!! The 6mm Rem is the most underrated cartridge IMHO. I first started loading this cartridge in 1966, for a custom heavy barrel, built on an FN action. Still my favorite hunting rifle.

Got best results with Federal Match Primers.

I have not shot either of those bullets, but have shot equivalent weights. The following powders-bullet combinations have consistently produced groups at or sub 0.2 – 0.3 in.: Varget – 55gr Nos BT; H414 – 75 Horn Vmax; H414 - 85 Sierra HPBT; IMR4831 (prior to 1995) & RL-22 – 100 Nos Part. Other powders that produce excellent results in 55 to 85 gr were: IMR 3031, IMR 4064, IMR 4831, BL-C2, H380. Remember, each weapon has taste preferences of its own.

If I were to start over today, I would seriously test the Ramshot Powders, their Magnum Powder looks very good for velocity in 100 gr. I have also heard excellent reports for accuracy, ease of measuring, and temperature insensitivity.
