I inherited a mod 29 remington 12 guage.
It came with no owners manual, and when I twist the barrel on the action, and latch it, then nothing. I can't get the pump to work.
any suggestions?
I could send it to remingtion, but it could be a "trick" that I don't know, and I am back in business.
thanks,

Remington will send you one free. I think you have to provide them with the serial number of the gun. My model 17 manual came as a photocopied packet of papers; works but don't expect a pristine vintage manual. If you don't want to wait, this guy on AuctionArms has one for sale for $7.01. Here's the AA Site: http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=5235522 and here's the remington site: http://www.remington.com/whatsnew/readroom.htm#olownman

IIRC, the Model 29 is an improved model 10. The takedown version has an adjustable barrel. You are supposed to be able to adjust this as the gun wears. If you don't know that little tidbit, you might make the gun too tight and therefore prevent it from working properly. See this thread... even the best of us :D make mistakes with vintage remington shottys every once in a while: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51621

Here's a pic of a Remington 29 for anybody not 'in the know'.
