Yes, a 700 ADL stock will fit fine, just be sure to order the correct action length. The Sportsman 78 is just a plainer version of the old ADL. Another tip, if you want a hinged floorplate, or detachable mag, now is the time to do it. Just buy the correct stock and bottom metal. If you switch to a floorplate (BDL style) you will either have to buy a new magazine box or modify the one you have. I converted one of mine, and simply sawed approximately .25 inch off the bottom of box.
