Anybody else here tried the Remington 100 round JHP value pack from Walmart?
I've tried couple boxes in my handguns and found them to be totally reliable but very inaccurate in my handguns. Most groups were around 6-7" in most handguns and none were under 4 1/2" at 25 yards. This is more than twice the average group size in these pistols. Didn't get to chrono any but it shot like standard 230gr ball ammo.

Walmart also had them in 9mm and 40S&W but I have not tried them yet.

I have purchased many a Winchester White Box value pack from Walmart and have had pretty good accuracy with them as seen in the pic.

I have shot some of the 9mm 115jhp value packs from remington. They shoot ok from my XD-9. They work pretty good on groundhogs too! :)

Well...

My Glock 23 loves them, and my Taurus 650 hates them. They are my current carry/practice load for the Glock, and they are accurate enough for me. However, in my Taurus, the box of .357 Rem. UMC (125 gr. SP) I had kept locking up the cylinder because the primers bulged and pushed against the frame.

I've had trouble with UMC 9mm in the accuracy department. 12" groups at 10 yards with my Dad's Firestar M-43. Same gun with my cheap target handloads produced 3" groups at the same distance. WWB, S&B, Federal American Eagle, and PMC have been good to me for inexpensive (not cheap) factory ammo. Oh, PMP doesn't do too bad either.

I've used them, it's ok stuff. I use the Winchester 115 gr JHP from Wally world instead for carry ammo,( some day I will afford top drawer ammo....), but I wouldn't feel too bad with this ammo stuffed in my PO1...

I've run 300 of the 9mm's thru my sigma 9VE.I've had no failues and can get 3-4" groups at 20 yards if i do my part. They do have a good flash to them.

I tried a couple of boxes of the Remington 115gr. in the 100 round box from Wal Mart. Seems to have more bang, flash, and recoil than the Winchester. Accuracy was not as good with the Remington.

I shot some of the .40 S &W Remington HP value packs through my BHP and Glock 23. I bought it on a impulse because Walmart was out of the Win. White Box value packs in .40. No problems with the ammo. Fed fine through both guns. It is seemed accurate enough to me and shot pretty clean. I like it and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I picked up a .45 JHP value pack several months ago. I still have half of it left for some reason :scrutiny: Maybe feed problems? Can't remember. I usually stick with WWB or S&B FMJ.

I found the 100 round pack of 9mm JHP very accurate and reliable (NO jams) in a CZ-75B, but that gun feeds everything I offer it.

I bought a box of 230 gr .45's a few months ago to help break in a S&W 457 and to see how much recoil 230's generated in the little Smith. I liked the accuracy and feel so much that after several boxes, I now carry the 457 with that round. No problems here.

at $107/1000 rounds for UMC at dicks, i'm happy. The kind of shooting i do with my handguns doesn't require accuracy at the 25 yard line.

I think there was a similar thread on this not too long ago...It seems Winchester is putting out a improved accuracy bullet (says so on the box) and it is reported to burn cleaner as well...not sure of the calibers. I saw some in Walmart yesterday in 9mm 115 fmj,but they did not have the jhp's

I've tried the .45 ACPs, and they were of the same accuracy as all the other 230 grain loads at Walmart, but awfully dirty. The Blazer Brass were even dirtier, though, so I've just stuck with the WWB for FMJs and I have a bunch of Golden Saber I got a deal on for JHPs.

I shoot the 9, 40, and 45 out of my Glocks. I handload for the rest of my pistols, but I have been mucho very happy with them.

I am surprised at your results...my Glocks gobble them up like a Thanksgiving Turkey.

Happy Holiday...... :)

I have tested the Remington 40 S&W 180 HP value pack 100 round from Wal Mart. I do not have the chrono data in front of me but it had the highest velocity of any 180 grain bullet I have ever tested. Also the hollow point bullet appears to be of an advanced design.

Does anyone have any gelatin test data on this round?

Is this the same bullet used in the Remington Law Enforcement round?

Below is a photo of the rounds I recovered from a soft moist black dirt backstop. The distance was about 55 yards.

Ibmii, thanks for the pic. I have long wondered about the performance of the valu-pac JHP, but I can't find any performance data on the round. Your's is the first.

I'm gonna head out and run some through my Marlin Camp 45 and will report back this evening.
