Remington 1100 Barrel Seal-Which size?

Hi THR,

My girlfriend just bought herself a very nice Remington 1100 Skeet B in 20 gauge. She got a good price on it, but it's clearly been sitting in a safe for quite a while. The barrel seal needs to be replaced prior to shooting it. Brownells carries the seals, but we have a question:

Our research indicates that the 20 gauge Skeet B models are essentially a 20 gauge barrel sitting on a 12 gauge frame. My eyeball seems to verify this, especially in the diameter of the magazine tube. Do we need to order a 12 gauge seal, or a 20 gauge seal for this particular gun?

As a reference, the old seal measures about 1 and 1/8th inch in diameter.

If the serial number ends in X or N you need a size 21. If it ends in K or U you need a 19. Like $5 for four delivered on ebay for the (good) viton ones.

Don't mess with Ebay. Just go to your local hardware store and get them. Viton or Buna will work. Either is a few cents each. Buy a handful and never worry about it again. Good luck!

From where I live I can't drive to the hardware store cheaper, even with $2 gas.
