Anyone know how many of the 16 ga. 1100's there might have been manufactured? I recently seen one for sale in 99% condition with a plain barrel. (2 3/4 chamber) It had the nicer wood with checkering and engraving on the receiver, etc. Seems they want a small fortune for it since it seems to be somewhat rare ( at least according to them ). Obviously this would probably been one of the early productions, but was wondering if the command a premium over the usual 12's and 20's. I know the 28's and 410's are harder to come by, and priced accordingly. I actually had a 410 skeet I owned for about 30 minutes before trading it off, which was a big mistake.

Remington has re-introduced this model, and you can now buy new-manufacture 1100's in 16ga. Ask your local dealer(s) about ordering one for you. For more information, see here.

Not rare at all. I sold a 1100 and 870 in 16 ga last year, unfired and in the boxes, for $450 each. They are not difficult to find and are nice field guns. An unfired 410 with the enhanced receiver will run about $700.
