So...I was doing a thoroughly cleaning of a Rem 1100 20ga I picked up last year and after reassembly I found this on the ground. Gun appears to work fine, but wondering if anyone could tell me if they recognize this part and where it should go. Thanks

The only snap ring in an 1100 that I am aware of is on the interceptor latch, the little lever inside the right of the receiver. That being said, I have not seen a snap ring that looks exactly like that one. Maybe Remington is using an improved design? If the interceptor latch snap ring is in place, I am stumped.

Hmmm. That's what I saw too. But normally it's a snap ring that looks regular w 2 little holes. I'm not home to check, but maybe that's it.

It I a dual purpose snap ring, that can be used on two different size pins. I don't recall such a thing in an 1100, but it has been a while since I had one down.

I got one at the gun show for $120 in January.
It was full of dirt and rust and took a couple hours to clean and lube it so it works.
i did not see that part, but I did not disassemble the trigger group.

As Clark mentioned, if it came from the 1100, it likely came from the trigger group, although I have no way of checking this myself.
