Hi Folks,
Need to get rid of my Ruger 96/22 mag (arthritis) and am looking at a Remington 597 22mag. Are they any good?

Mine shoots good. Had to glass bead the action in a Boyds laminte stock and free float the barrel, and stone the trigger down to ~2lbs. But now, with either the Winchester 40gr JHP's, or Remington 33gr V-max it will shoot ~moa at 100yds. The plastic 7rd magazines have been reliable with all but 50gr CCI Gold-Dot HP's (discontinued).
I'd not get rid of the 96/22 however. I'd rather have one of those than the Remington.
