Bought Remington 6 1/2 small rifle primers but later realized that they are not recommended for 223. If anyone in or around Knoxville, TN loads 22 hornet or something else that can use Remington 6 1/2 SR primers I can make you a good deal on a 1000 count box or will trade for something I can use.

Are you going to shoot them in an AR?

Koski

It doesn't matter what .223 he's going to shoot them in, they may perforate right at the firing pin dent. This junks the bolt face or recoil shield of whatever you're shooting them in.

I destroyed a contender FP bushing and a bushy AR bolt before I found out they're NOT supposed to be used for high pressure small rifle applications. NO, the boxes I bought did NOT have the warning that Remington begrudgingly put on some boxes.

I used my mistakenly-acquired stock of 6 1/2s to make low pressure pistol rounds (9mm plinkers and 38 Special).

During the great primer shortage, my lovely wife bought me some 6 1/2s. They are still sitting in my cabinet, waiting for me to find a use for them.

In the "Great Primer Shortage" I used some in 223 and 222 with no problems.A few men I know near 80 used them for years with no problems.I called reminton in the Shortage and was advised it was OK for 223. Byron
